Preparing for the President’s visit, “By 1 in the afternoon on Tuesday, every main thoroughfare downtown was filled with happy people heading toward the Covelli Centre,” Zito reported. She interviewed Donald Skowron, a retired police officer, who said he was “very happy with the president’s performance so far,” and Dave Torrance who said the president is “doing the right things.” She offers insights into how the President connects with working class voters, and how he is offering them hope that once again, the American dream is alive.

CNBC reports that both the S&P 500 and the Nasdaq hit “intraday and closing” record highs on Tuesday.
